February 13, 2017Youth Ministry Position to be established at St. John’s. The Parish Council believes that our parish has reached the point where we should hire a full-time Youth Minister. I agree. The Finance Council also agrees. This is not a new topic, but one that has been discussed for some time. It is time to do this. I have visited with Amy Larsen, Diocesan Youth Minister, and she is forwarding copies of job descriptions for Youth Ministers currently employed in several parishes. A “job description” unique to our parish will be drafted and examined by the Parish Council and Finance Council for amending and approval. I hope to begin interviewing in June and hire before September 2017.
