Registration for Adult Faith Formation Courses begins this week. You are welcome to register for the following courses:
BIBLE STUDY ON THE GOSPEL OF SAINT JOHN. Participants will need to purchase the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible: The Gospel of John ($12.00). The study will be held on Wednesday morning with two sessions: 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Sessions will be held at the rectory. The study begins on September 9 and ends February 17. A study on the book FORMING INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES: THE PATH TO KNOWING AND FOLLOWING JESUS by Sherry Weddell. This is Catholic evangelical outreach at its best. The study will be held on Thursday evenings, 6:00 p.m. beginning September 10, 6:00 p.m. at the parish hall and will last for a total of 12 sessions. Cost of the book is to be paid by participants ($16.00). The parish will pay for the workbook.
SYMBOLON: THE CATHOLIC FAITH EXPLAINED. This is an ideal course of study and group discussion for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Faith, Catholics who have not had an opportunity to study at a deeper level, those who have stopped practicing their Faith for whatever reason but would like to return, non-Catholic Christians who are curious about the Church and those who are considering converting to the Catholic Church. Classes will be held Thursday evenings, 7:00 p.m. at the parish hall beginning September 24. Classes end March 10, 2016.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY IN AMERICA. This course is being offered through the Center for Distance Learning from Wyoming Catholic College. It is an in-depth look into the history of religious liberty and how it has shaped the founding and history of the American Republic. Classes will be held on Monday evenings at the parish hall, 7:00 p.m., beginning October 5 and end November 16. We hope to have Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of Wyoming Catholic College and a professor of American History come at the conclusion of the study to answer any questions participants have. Parents of high school children are welcome to suggest that their children attend these informative classes. Perhaps you might consider coming as a family.
