March 29, 2016Folks have been asking about the option to do online giving so they can do planned giving and for a whole host of other reasons that fits their lifestyle. So now we have it!
We have chosen to use EasyTithe’s giving portal as it comes highly recommended by a leading Catholic Technologies Firm and, along with top notch PCI Level 1 Security, it has some of the best and latest tithing features -- plus it is the easiest to use online giving portal we have found. It takes practically no time to learn and has many options for mobile giving (not active yet), scheduled giving, simultaneous multiple funds giving, and your personal pledge tracking & reports. You can at anytime see and print out your giving reports for your own records, as well as for tax purposes. There is also a new feature on the My Donation page under the Credit Card Information where you can click to donate back the Church's transaction fee from your online donation. In the future, we plan to phase in Mobile Giving too.
Give it a try! It’s so easy if you have any internet experience (especially with online shopping) you will be set up and going in less than 5 minutes! To get started just go to the front page of St John’s website (www.sjbc-buffalo.com) and under St John’s head on the right hand side you will find the Online Stewardship / Giving Button saying Click Here! Do so and you’ll be taken to a secure PCI1 website with the best security, and then just fill out your account sign up info. In just a couple of minutes you’ll be exploring the different funds you can donate too, different ways to schedule your giving and ways you can pledge and track your giving. If it’s your first time on the EasyTithe site, do start with clicking on the First Time? Button in the upper left corner. It’s that simple.
Now, if you’re still a little hesitant, that’s fine. You can take the tutorial we’ve developed that explains everything step by step by step. To find the tutorial and run it, go to the online giving information page on SJBC’s web Home Page, under the Home menu button, is the Online Giving button, which is the third one down. Click on it. Read the information on this page and, when you are ready, just click on the bright RED link in the middle of the page. That will take you to a EasyTithe Walk Through Tutorial. Take it once or twice or as many times as you like until you feel prepared to go back to the SJBC Home Page and click on that Online Stewardship Pledge/Giving Button!

A few of the other advantages of Online Giving are:
1. You won't have to carry money to Church -- you can concentrate on the Mass;
2. If you are travelling or sick, you can still be supporting the Church and the different projects and funds you are committed or pledged toward;
3. No more messy, tedious Church envelopes (nor the cost for the Church to print them, track them and record them);
4. You can easily change and update your pledges;
5. You can diversify your giving and stewardship intentions between several giving opportunities.
