August 28, 2020I have discontinued our Oregon Catholic Press subscription for the “Today’s Missal” for this Advent and Christmas. I see no point wasting a lot of money to buy books we may or may not be allowed to use. I will, however, purchase the hymnals which are designed to be used for a year by which time we can hopefully return to normal. If you wish to have access to the Scriptures used for the weekend Masses and the prayers used during Mass, I urge you to purchase your own Missal and bring it with you to Church. Having your own Missal allows you to read the Scripture texts for any particular weekend you’re interested in before coming to Mass which will better prepare you to hear them proclaimed. Having your own Missal allows you to read the Scriptures for a few weeks in a row at your leisure. There are a variety of Missal options, styles and price ranges. I highly recommend calling Gerkens Church Supply in Denver. You can do a “google” search that will take you to their website or you can call them at 303-534- 8223. You will find the staff to be courteous, eager to help you, and they do a good job getting orders out quickly. I deal with them exclusively when ordering Church supplies.
